MY PERSONAL FAVOURITES

Here's a brief showcase of the games I've enjoyed making the most. If you'd like to see more on them there's some little expandable boxes down below :D

ROSA OF THE DEAD

Rosa of the Dead is an intense player-defense action-survival game where your hand crafted machines are the only thing standing between you and certain death.

Gloop!

Made in less than 72 hours for the Wowie Jam 4.0, themed Collaborate with AI, Rosa of the Dead puts players in the shoes of Rosa Sky, a lonesome mechanic tasked with defending the Earth against undead hordes from the underground in this wacky "20 Minutes Till Dawn meets Pikmin" adventure.

Building Turrets

Build your own army of mechanical soldiers to aid you in your quest for survival and cut through the undead masses with dozens of possible Robot combinations, from fast-firing stationary machine guns to mobile grenade launcher turrets. Every robot can be fully customized with up to three different (or repeating) Turret Types, multiple movement options and tons of distinct behaviours. Want a full unit of agressive, fast-moving heavy cannons? Sure. A stationary, lone sniper robot that always targets the furthest enemy away? Go right ahead. A three-storey high bot with multiple different turrets, each one of them aiming at a different type of enemy? We've got your back. With this much variety, Rosa of the Dead allows you to experiment, strategize and play it your way with hundreds of possible viable builds - and even some game-breaking ones.

DICE OR DIE

Dice or Die is a fast paced, speedrun-oriented puzzle game about Sentient Dice trying to escape highly complex Dice Cup interiors in the shortest time possible. Made in 48 hours for the GMTK Game Jam 2022, themed Roll of the Dice. In Dice or Die, your ultimate tool is optimization. In order to finish the levels quickly and reach the Score Goals, you will have to master the Dice Movement, use your quick reflexes, and, most importantly, figure out the most optimal route towards the finish line on every level.

Dice Gameplay

Reaching Score Goals is all about figuring out the perfect route that will allow you to land on as many Numbered Tiles as possible while also moving forward at a fast pace, with no unecessary detours. Not all Numbered Tiles are good for you, though: a lot of them are just placed there to throw you off of the optimal routes, so don't just go in and try to hit every single one of them blindly!

Dice lol

The Kassel Paradox

A first person shooter like no other. The Kassel Paradox is a time-travelling, blood-pumping, PSX-styled shooter set in the streets of Kassel, Germany during World War 2 and a dystopian Cyberpunk future.

Time Travel Gameplay

Made in two weeks for the 32-bit Jam 2022, themed Another World. The Kassel Paradox is our first fully-fledged 3D project as a team. As William Cadieux, a young recruit separated from his platoon, players fight behind enemy lines in what seems to be a hopeless mission, until they stumble upon an unusual pair of glasses...

Time Travel Battles

Use your Time Travel Glasses to your advantage. Pop in and out of the timelines mid-combat to avoid enemy fire, go behind enemies and ambush them, or get yourself some breathing room to reload. But don't just point and shoot! Weapon switching is a key strategy to your survival, since enemies from the past take more damage from weapons from the future, and vice versa.

Game Jam Games

Connie the Crystalcaster Logo

Connie the Crystalcaster is a 2D Platformer Survival Arcade, is that a genre? In CCC you sling magical crystals to defeat your enemies and defend your teacher's home. The game was made in less than 72 hours for MiniJam 150 - Magic, the limitation we had to follow was "Light is the way". I got to work with the wonderful JJ/HotNoggin, he's a super smart programmer who I think is still in highschool, really great guy go check him out. During this jam I was also working on the Starlight team as I had already said I would work with JJ but they needed a composer, more on that in the Starlight section.

Connie the Crystalcaster Gameplay

I never actually got to touch the game in development since we didn't have a GitHub repo, I probably would've recommened some tweaking to the floaty physics and overall feel admittedly. Alas I still feel proud looking at my art moving around like that, like whoah, I drew that little person who's running around.

fun goomba stomp

I also got to do a fun little comic that plays before you load into the game, I love how much personality I got to put into it.

Connie the Crystalcaster Comic

Please do watch the trailer honestly it might be my favourite thing that came from this game, it's so hype (well... hype for a 72-hour gamejam game...)

Ah Crab! Mom's Coming!

Starlight is a relaxing puzzle game in which you forge paths with color waves. It was made in less than 72 hours for MiniJam 150 - Magic, the limitation we had to follow was "Light is the way". Alas Starlight is a game I had a very small hand in. I was simply the composer and I had already agreed to join another person for the jam, but the team needed music and sound effects and so I hopped on. Boy am I happy I joined the team because even if I didn't have too much of a hand on the assets I was the only one in the team who had ever worked on a gamejam. I ended up kinda side-managing and composing for the team (just making sure everyone was on the same page and kept it practical) while also doing all of the art and music for Connie the Crystalcaster in the same 72 hours, phew stresses me out just thinking about it.

My favourite thing to look back on for this game is something I didn't even make, the delight Ard3ntly made this gorgeous album cover for the OST and every now and then I just stop to look at it, so damn pretty.

Starlight Album Cover by the wonderful Ard3ntly
Ah Crab! Mom's Coming!

Ah Crab! Mom's Coming! is a fun little arcade game in which you must juggle playing your favourite video games past bedtime whilst dodging your mom who keeps making sure that you're asleep. Made in 10 days for the GameDev.tv Game Jam 2023 with the theme "Life in Two Dimensions". Boe and I (friend and 3D modeler from Screen Tears) partnered with the wonderful Kristin Tan who is an incredible artist and Ricardo Valdes, a programmer looking to experiment with the Unity Engine.

ACMC gameplay

Boechat did a fantastical job making the room, it just looks so cozy doesn't it? We used a few pieces of art that I had done in the past as textures to make it feel a little more alive.

Rosa of the Dead Box and Flamingo Poster

Since Kristin Tan was a far more talented artist than me she did the all of the main art, I was our composer and sound engineer. It was nice just getting to focus on doing the audio, and trailer... oh dear the trailer.

Hiding from Mom

Listen I made it with like, an hour left in the jam. You really don't have to watch the trailer, though I do find it funny...

The Kassel Paradox

A first person shooter like no other. The Kassel Paradox is a time-travelling, blood-pumping, PSX-styled shooter set in the streets of Kassel, Germany during World War 2 and a dystopian Cyberpunk future. Made in two weeks for the 2022 32-bit Jam, The Kassel Paradox is our first fully-fledged 3D project as Screen Tears.

The Kassel Paradox gameplay

I was in charge of art direction, music, sfx, and texturing. Due to the 90's target era, we worked within 128x128 textures

Weapon Textures

Development of The Kassel Paradox was incredibly fun as it was my first experience working in 3D.

More Gameplay

Here's the trailer for the game if you'd like to see it in action!

Rosa of the Dead

Rosa of the Dead gameplay

Here's the main menu screen, easily my favourite bit of art I've done, it just feels right.

Weapon Textures

This is my favourite game I've worked on as of making this website. I did most of the sprite work and artwork along with music and SFX.

More Gameplay

Once again this game was developed with my gamedev team Screen Tears!

Dice or Die

Dice or Die is a fast paced, speedrun-oriented puzzle game about Sentient Dice trying to escape highly complex Dice Cup interiors in the shortest time possible. Made in 48 hours for the GMTK Game Jam 2022, themed Roll of the Dice.

Dice or Die gameplay

I mainly worked on the soundtrack and sound effects for Dice or Die but did additional concept art for features that we just couldn't put in the game due to the 48 hour time limit.

Rosa of the Dead gameplay

Once again this game was developed with my gamedev team Screen Tears!

Midnight in Paradise

A very brief horror game that I worked did all of the art, sound effects, and music for.

Dice or Die gameplay

Made for the Mini-Jam 108: Seaside GameJam in less than 72 hours with KittyNyapho!

Rosa of the Dead gameplay

This one was actually the first game I ever worked on, certainly some growing pains but I'm happy that I made that first step!

StarDunks Cafe

In this short, chess inspired puzzle game, you move ingredients into a cup of coffee to make a delicious beverage.

Level 2

It's frankly not a very fun game to play, nor pretty... But hey experience is experience right?

uh oh!
